So, I'm a senior now, and I have to start thinking about college. D: I've known for a long time that I do NOT want to attend an actual college/university. I want to go to an art school. So, here are the 4 schools I am looking into:
1st choice: School of Visual Arts in NYC.
2nd choice: University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
3rd choice: School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
And, if all else fails, I'll go to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco - they have a 100% acceptance rate there, so...go figure.
I'm trying very hard not to think about costs, because I've signed up with a financial aid group that's been with our school for years, and they are very legit. My family has a dismally low income, so I should be getting a ridiculous amount of financial aid. And, I'm not ruling out scholarships either, seeing as I am in the top 10 percentile of my class. (18 out of 402, thank you very much. xD)
But yeah...in a way, I'm excited about maybe, possibly, going to one of these schools. But I'm also terrified... :/ I've been here in San Antonio for so long, I'm so afraid of how I'll deal somewhere else...
I don't give a damn what anyone says, I'm dragging my mom with me wherever I go. D: I love that woman way too much to leave her behind here. She needs to be with me.........and I need to be with her.

Another bit of news:
I've never had a good camera to use. And it always infuriated me, because I want to be taken seriously as a photographer, and not be seen as another joker teenage kid with crappy photos. And try as I might to tell myself that it's not about the camera, but the mind behind it, there's absolutely no way anyone can deny that my photos aren't so great, because of the fact that they were taken with a 5.2 megapixel point-and-shoot camera. -_-
Well, anyways. I'm on the yearbook/journalism staff at my school. And with money we earned by taking portraits of couples at our homecoming dance, the school bought us a camera and a lens to go with it. The camera and lens are used, but in good condition.
It's a Canon Rebel EOS, and it came with a 35-80mm lens. The additional lens we got is a 70-210mm lens. And, since my teacher is so absolutely amazing, she's letting me take claim of the camera until I can get one of my own (which I plan on doing soon - someone, please, hire me? D: Urgh.)
So, yes...I have a much better quality camera now, and I can't wait to start using it for real - I'm just messing around with it now, getting the feel of it and such. Hopefully sometime this week, I'll have something to show for it.
